Both lawn weeds are edible in a chemical-free lawn and garden.\u00a0However, chemical\u00a0herbicides\u00a0may be your primary option to eliminating\u00a0both of these\u00a0noxious weed pests.<\/p>\n<p>Wild garlic forms patches of perennial bulblets which multiply and return each\u00a0year\u00a0in greater numbers. Hand pulling is\u00a0rarely a viable option because the bulblet root system breaks off and sends up a new plant,\u00a0often within\u00a0a week. You need to dig and lift beneath the bulbs.<\/p>\n<p>Frequent mowing\u00a0cuts off flowers\u00a0to prevent seed head formation. Maintaining a\u00a0dense stand of lawn grass crowds out wild garlic (and other weeds).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Effective chemical herbicide products\u00a0include: \u00a02,4-D, Dicamba, Clopyralid, and Triclopyr. Combination herbicides containing two or more of the above products are most effective.
