In the gardening world few shrubs produce blue flowers, most in the pale blue to lavender range. Below are nine (9) of the best &#8220;blues&#8221; in the world of shrub flower world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bluebeard<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Caryopteris<\/em>\u00a0x\u00a0<em>clandonensis<\/em>), aka blue mist shrub, blooms in late summer into autumn on this 2-3 feet tall shrub (zones 5-9). Cultivars: &#8216;Longwood Blue&#8217;, &#8216;Beyond Midnight&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rhododendron<\/strong> (<em>Rhododendron spp<\/em>.) cultivars produce numerous lavender blue flowers. Popular varieties include: 1. many catawba rhododendrons (<em>Rhododendron catawbiense<\/em>) produce lavender-pink flowers from April to early June (zones 4 to 8); 2. Best blue cultivars: \u2018Nikko Blue\u2019, \u2018Nantucket Blue\u2019, Endless Summer\u2122 series, Let&#8217;s Dance\u2122 Blue Jangles, Let&#8217;s Dance\u2122 Rhythmic Blue. (Zones:5-9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rose of Sharon (<\/strong><em>Hibiscus syriacus<\/em>) is an old-fashioned 8 to 12 feet tall shrub with lacy blooms from summer to fall. Blue cultivars:\u00a0\u2018Blue Bird\u2019, \u2018Blue Chiffon\u2019, &#8216;Lavender Chiffon&#8217; (Zones 5-8).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lavenders<\/strong> (<em>Lavandula spp.<\/em>) is a perennial subshrub treasured for their floral beauty and fragrance and also purposed for culinary, medicinal, and decorative potpourri. Select from blue-purple flowered &#8216;Mumstead&#8217; English Lavender (<em>L. <\/em><i>angustifolia) (<\/i>zones\u00a05 &#8211; 8) and some French \/ Spanish lavender (<em>L.\u00a0stoechas<\/em>) varieties (zones 7b-9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chaste Tree<\/strong> (<em>Vitex agnus-castus<\/em>) is a 6-12 foot tall shrub or 12-16 foot small tree.
