Over the past decade gardeners have tried new, reportedly disease resistant cultivars.<\/p>\n<p>Many have disappointed. To date, the cultivars &#8216;David&#8217; (white, 3-4 ft.tall) and &#8216;Robert Poore&#8217; (rose pink, 4-5 ft.) have been reliably p-m-d resistant standard bearers here.<\/p>\n<p><em>Phlox paniculata<\/em> &#8216;Jeana&#8217; was found by Jeana Prewitt\u00a0near her home in Nashville TN with one plant that she deemed to be radically different than all the rest.\u00a0In over 10 years, through all kinds of\u00a0wild weather phenomena,\u00a0 &#8216;Jeana&#8217; has\u00a0never been seriously injured by powdery mildew.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Jeana&#8217; is a vigorous grower, and well branched\u00a0to\u00a048 inches in height.\u00a0 The sweetly scented florets open slowly\u00a0and\u00a0its lavender pink color remains vibrant\u00a0over quite a\u00a0long time\u00a0from mid- summer through early autumn.<\/p>\n<p>The short stems are strong sturdy, supporting a\u00a0huge floral head.
