Dr. Mark Windham and his research team have been evaluating\u00a0 disease resistance in shrub roses. &#8220;The summer heat and humidity in the South\u00a0makes it a\u00a0perfect\u00a0location\u00a0for\u00a0evaluating rose\u00a0disease resistance&#8221;, says Dr. Windham.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The winners in the 2010 UT Shrub Trial are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Category 1. Resistant Cultivars (&lt;2% foliage with blackspot and\/or Cercospora leaf spot):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Blushing Knockout&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Brite Eyes&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Double Knockout&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Double Pink Knockout&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Golden Eyes&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Hansa&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Kashmir&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Knockout&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Moje Hammarberg&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;My Girl&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Pink Knockout&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;White Dawn&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Wildberry Breeze&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Category 2. Moderately Resistant )&lt;10% foliage with blackspot and\/or Cercospora leaf spot):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Carefree Sunshine&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Como Park&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Fiesta&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Forty Heroes&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Homerun&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;My Hero&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Palmengarten Frankfurt&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Super Hero&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Wild Spice&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Wild Thing&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Most, if not all cultivars, may be purchased from mail order nurseries found on the internet.
