Needle retention varies among species. Stevens\u2019 and \u2018Foster\u2019 hollies to create beautiful holiday outdoor displays and table arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>Include on this list U<strong>nique deciduous cut stems<\/strong> such as Contorted willow, Contorted filbert (Harry Lauder\u2019s Walking stick), Contorted mulberry (<i>Morus bombycis <\/i>\u2018Unyru\u2019)<i> <\/i>and <i>M. alba <\/i>\u2018Nuclear Blast\u2019).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cut dried flowers<\/strong> from various hydrangea species (<i>Hydrangea spp<\/i>.) and plumes from\u00a0several grass species.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Showy Fruits and Seeds<\/strong>: Cones from evergreen trees and brightly colored fruits from shrubbery such as\u00a0 Crabapple (<em>Malus<\/em>), Viburnums, Cotoneasters, Beautyberry (<i>Callicarpa spp.<\/i>), and Hollies, both evergreen and deciduous forms.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget\u00a0to purchase some tools and accessories: sharp cutting shears, spools of wire and cord, ribbons<\/p>\n<p>Where to purchase greenery cuts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>local Christmas tree farms and city sales lots<\/li>\n<li>on-line sources are plentiful; start shopping for greenery and accessories in early November rather than later.<\/li>\n<li>many local greenhouses and garden centers offer a good choice of greenery and accessories<\/li>\n<li>local holly and evergreen nurseries (<strong>note<\/strong>: often they are noted listed on line.
