Plant develops into a broad 3 &#8211; 4 feet\u00a0spreading mound and around 3 feet high. Hostas\u00a0rated in the &#8220;extra large&#8221; category\u00a0size\u00a0take 3 to 4 years to reach mature\u00a0size described on plant tag.<\/p>\n<p>Plants\u00a0grow rapidly\u00a0if properly sited and cared for.\u00a0Victory hostas produce light lavender flowers that stand above the foliage on sturdy stalks. Summer flowers attract hummingbirds and some insect pollinators. Gold leaf edging tends to fade to\u00a0a light cream color by late summer.<\/p>\n<p>Hostas are best planted in partial to full shade and adapt to a wide range of soil types that are well-drained\u00a0and generously amended with compost. One year old established plants\u00a0tolerate brief spring\/summer dry periods. Feed once annually with a slow-release organic based fertilizer at planting time or in early spring.<\/p>\n<p>Every 5-6 years, dig up and divide hostas\u00a0either when new spring growth\u00a0begins to\u00a0emerge or when clump shows first signs of decline in fall.
